Cristiano Maggi AKA Daxton Clark, born in Rome on 05.11.1970, became hooked on detective stories as a child, when he began to watch under the influence of his father, The Lady in Yellow, masterfully performed by the great Angela Lansbury, which chronicled the investigations of the mystery writer and novice detective Jessica Fletcher.

He began reading at the age of 12 the books of Agatha Christie, considered by him to be one of the greatest mystery writers of the 20th century; characters such as Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple were born from her pen.

At the age of 16, while attending surveyor’s technical college he became interested in the Thriller, and Horror genres and began to follow writers such as Ken Follet, James Patterson and Stephen King, of the latter he also became fond of the film adaptations such as CARRIE, SHINING and STAND BY ME.

He graduated from high school in 1990, enrolled in college and began studying engineering, attended classes for two years, and then left his studies and began working as a surveyor practicing as a freelancer in 1997.

In the early 2000s, he began to approach investigative techniques by watching the first TV series on television, which would become in time a cult of the genre, such as CSI – Scene of the Crime and NCIS – Anti-Crime Unit, two of the longest-running series of all time, the former with as many as sixteen seasons and the latter to date having reached 22 seasons and still in production.

Through watching these television series, he became close to and passionate about investigation and forensic work, even beginning to study as a self-taught American forensic investigative methods.

Between 2005 and 2017 she follows for all seasons two new series from the period; BONES where he learns about scientific investigation by analyzing bones, through the investigations of a forensic anthropologist, a series based on the novels of another writer KATHY REICHS, whose books he began reading at the same time, and CASTLE DETECTIVE AMONG THE RIGS, which is about the story of a famous mystery writer who helps in the investigation of a NYPD Detective, where he will be impressed by the line that at the beginning of each episode the voice-over said, “There are two categories of people who think about how to kill people: psychopaths and mystery writers. Mine is the one that makes the most sense. Who am I? I’m Rick Castle.”

So why not mix this passion for mystery, investigation, and the possibility of making money into one?

Hence the inspiration to write, first jotting down ideas that he will encapsulate in collections, in the period from 2018 to 2023, and then fuse them into a single concept, and in 2024 thus write and publish his first mystery book, ISABEL.
